Does Self Praise Stink?

Dizzy Dean once said, "It ain't bragging if you really done it," so a Bronxville author tells about her recent successes.

I dunno.

As a kid, I was told that it definitely DOES. But now I'm not so sure. It is, you see, the only way that we writers can survive.

So what the heck? I'm going to tell you about some recent successes.

Terrie Farley Moran, a writer/blogger at WomenofMystery.net, has recently praised my work.  She did a nice post http://is.gd/EjoKEe recommending my two digital short stories, "The Christmas Exception" and "What Are you Doing New Year's Eve." Then, in addition, she included my 2002 mystery novel, Duped By Derivatives, in the list of her top ten reads of 2012 http://is.gd/A0mMRd. That was especially exciting for me, since Duped will be released as an ebook this year. Terrific publicity, good timing.

Another plus. THE KILLER WORE CRANBERRY: A SECOND HELPING (my story, "They eDone Him Wrong," is one of the 17 stories in the anthology) was named by Caro, a reviewer at the Open Book Society, a favorite read of 2012 http://is.gd/FvFkFW.

By the way, there will be another edition of funny Thanksgiving crime stories this year. If you'd like to submit a story for consideration to the 2013 anthology, keep your eyes open for the submission call from Untreed Reads. Or drop me a line at my website http://www.farrellysistersonline.com/, and I'll let you know as soon as I see "the call."

As for the latest news, my most recent spoof “Can Wearing Feathers Help to Attract the Opposite Sex?” http://is.gd/9UKr2Y is getting a lot of views (900+ so far) at TheSpoof.com. It's about dinosaurs, Gypsy Rose Lee, and Yankee Doodle with his feather-in-the cap pony "Macaroni." All packed into 199 words!
