TOWN OF EASTCHESTER RECREATION AND THE BALLERINA BALL TEAM UP TO BRING A UNIQUE AND INTERACTIVE NUTCRACKER EVENT TO EASTCHESTER, BRONXVILLE AND TUCKAHOE FAMILIES THIS WINTER, SUNDAY DECEMBER 22ND, AT THE TUCKAHOE COMMUNITY CENTER
Young dancers will follow Clara on her journey through a flurry of snowflakes to the Land of the Sweets, complete with snacks, crafts, performances by local pre-professionals and giveaways
The Tuckahoe Community Center will open its doors to all residents of Eastchester, Bronxville and Tuckahoe, age 3-8, to ring in the holiday season and to celebrate the family favorite Nutcracker Ballet with it's second annual Nutcracker Party. Joining the efforts of party experts The Ballerina Ball, each guest will join Clara in her favorite afternoon of the year, where they will be taken through the journey that begins on the eve of Christmas and ends with a flying sleigh ride out of the Land of the Sweets. Stations of craft supplies to make wintry keepsakes will help these guests battle the mouse king and dance through a snow storm with their new friends! Post crafting, the young guests will be greeted by the snow queen, adorned in white tulle and diamonds to escort them into a whirling snowstorm of dancing snowflakes. Dancing to the tunes of Tchaikovsky and learning the steps of the snowflakes, the Sugar Plum Fairy applauds the young dancers performance along side the wintery queen and brings them into a room filled with everything sweet. Pre-professional dancers from the Scarsdale Ballet Studio will entertain each guest with a series of short performances, highlighting the Nutcracker’s most beloved characters. Holiday refreshments, giveaways and raffles from local businesses will top off this magical afternoon.
Admission to "A Nutcracker Party" is $35 per child and pre-registration is required by Thursday, December 12th. The event is recommended for ages 3-8 and will take place at the Tuckahoe Community Center, located at 71 Columbus Avenue in Tuckahoe, NY. The Ballerina Ball, founded by Kimberly Giannelli aims at providing creative alternatives to children’s birthday parties by creating a hands on ballet and movement based experience to celebrate your child's special day. Tailored around a favorite fairy tale or fable, each Ball engages young guests to craft props and learn movement to express the characters in the story while exploring its plot through ballet. Each party is customizable and can be held in the home, dance studio or alternative space. For bookings and inquiries contact 914.263.5395 or email Kimberly at theballerinaball@gmail.com
