Quest For Honor: A Film and Talk with Producer Mary Ann Smothers Bruni

Filmmaker, Mary Ann Smothers Bruni, documents the advocacy of women from the Women’s Media Center of Suleymaniyah as they fight to end the practice of “honor killings” in Iraq.  Quest for Honor follows these women, as they work with Iraq’s Kurdish Regional Government and others to solve the murder of a widowed young mother, protect the victim of a safe-house shooting, eradicate “honor killing” and redefine honor. Bruni is a journalist and photographer who has spent many years in the Iraqi Kurdistan region documenting women’s lives.
