Pruning and Care of Young Trees

Best Practices Workshop conducted by George Profous, Senior Forester, Urban and Community Forestry, NYS DEC Region 3

The best way to improve tree survival and shape - and reduce future maintenance and storm damage - is by selecting the right trees for the right places and pruning them early.  Over time, trees always provide more benefits to the community than they cost.  By starting when trees are young, we can reap maximum benefits, whether in your own yard, or the street and park trees in your neighborhood.
