Clerk’s Mobile Passport Office Coming to County Pools in August

Tibbetts Brook Pool is one of the summer visits scheduled for taking passport applications.

WHITE PLAINS, NY: The grueling hot record-breaking temperatures are driving Westchester County residents in droves to county pools this summer for a cool dip and relief from the heat. Westchester County Clerk Timothy C. Idoni wants residents to know that if you need to apply for a U.S. Passport, and as an alternative to coming to the office in White Plains, the Clerk’s mobile passport office will be accepting passport applications and taking photos at two county pools in August:

Thursday, August 8th from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Tibbetts Brook Park, Midland Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704

Thursday, August 22nd from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Saxon Woods Park, 1800 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605

“Most applications take only a few minutes to complete inside our fully equipped mobile passport office, and you can return to poolside in no time to cool off from the summer heat,” said Clerk Idoni.  The Clerk’s community outreach staff travels throughout the county each year accepting applications. Since April, the community outreach staff has processed more than 500 passport applications in over twenty locations in the county.

A certified copy of your birth certificate, a valid driver’s license and the fee is usually all you need.  For minors under the age of 16, both parents should appear together and sign the application of the child. However, if only one parent appears and signs, that parent must submit the other parent's notarized Statement of Consent form (DS-3053) and a photocopy of their identification. The Statement of Consent form can be found at www.WestchesterClerk.com.

Once processed, routine passport applications take approximately four to six weeks and for an additional federal expedited fee, the processing time is reduced to two to three weeks.  If you are planning to apply, please call the County Clerk’s Passport and Licensing Division at (914)995-3086, Community Outreach at (914)995-3082, or visit www.WestchesterClerk.com for specific requirements and to download an application.

Applications can always be submitted in person at the Office of the Westchester County Clerk, located at 110 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in White Plains. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays.  You must arrive by 4:30 p.m.  Visit the website www.WestchesterClerk.com  where Mobile Office calendar dates are regularly updated when events are confirmed.
