Tuckahoe Student Wins Poster Contest

Congratulations to 8th Grader Denise Castracucco on her Peace Poster contest win

Tuckahoe Middle School student Denise Castracucco has won the Tuckahoe-Eastchester Lions Club Peace Poster Contest. Those who entered the contest had to come up with an artist's rendering of "imagining peace."

Castracucco got a $100 check for her fine artwork. She was awarded at the Tuckahoe-Eastchester Lions Club gathering at JC Fogarty's last week. The 8th grader's artwork competed among many other entries in the competition.

The peace poster contest has been going on for a quarter of a century. This year was the first time the Tuckahoe-Eastchester Lions Club brought the competition to Tuckahoe Middle School.

Now, Castracucco's artwork is in the running for the competition as it moves to New York City and then possibly to the international competition. The winner of the international contest will receive $5,000. That competition is held in April.
