Update: A Flood Advisory has been issued for our area until 12:45pm
The drive down the Sprain Brook Parkway from White Plains to Bronxville was a harrowing one, filled with flashes of lightning and jolts of thunder. Lightning struck the top of Westchester's Ridge Hill as I passed Sprain Ridge Lake, desperately trying to get to Bronxville.
Luckily I survived, but others had major problems as one disabled vehicle after another could be found along the shoulder of the Sprain Pkwy.
Also Kimball Ave. in Yonkers near Midland Ave. has two lanes closed due to emergency Con Ed. work.
You can check the traffic on Patch for all roadways in our area by clicking on the "Commute" tab at the top of the page.
The national weather service has not issued any warnings for our area yet but flood prone areas of Bronxville and the surrounding areas may experience difficulties later on today.
Be safe out there and take it slow!
