The check was presented to Eastchester’s Superintendent of Recreation Sally Veltidi by Women’s Club President Doris Kramer and Vice President Ann Pazzola at a luncheon at the Davenport Country Club.

The money will be used to transport playground equipment from the former Eastchester Child Development Building and set it up at the Joyce Road playground.

This move allows the Eastchester Parks and Recreation Department to improve its parks at minimal cost to the residents.

The Eastchester Women’s Club selects local organizations and projects to donate to and also presents four $500 scholarships to Eastchester and Tuckahoe graduating seniors each year.

Their semi annual luncheon also included entertainment by the Women’s Club Showstoppers and the Lake Isle Dancers.

They performed a variety of tap numbers led by Paula Tarantino, a former Rockette.
