It's time to hunker down and get ready for a wintry blast from Mother Nature. People in our area are buying supplies ahead of the storm, such as rock salt and shovels.
The owner of Bronxville's Provisions for Pets says dog owners should consider buying pet-friendly rock salt for their driveways and sidewalks. He says regular rock salt can cause dogs to have diarrhea and vomiting.
The manager of Value Drugs on Pondfield Road says ice melt has been selling briskly. He expects a rush on other supplies, such as shovels, as the storm bears down on us.
