Spoken Interludes Returns With $25-Per-Person Buffet Dinner Program in Hastings on Hudson
The cost includes a buffet Indian dinner prior to the readings catered by chef Navjot Arora of the restaurant Chutney Masala in Irvington.
Three authors of new works will participate with brief readings following the buffer dinner. They are:
- "The New Yorker" staff writer Rebecca Mead who will read from "My Life in Middlemarch."
- Debbie Stier who will quote from "The Perfect Score: Uncovering the Secrets of the SAT"
- Ben Marcus who will read from "Leaving the Sea," a collection of 15 tales.
Buffet service begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. when the first author is introduced.
Book signings take place from 8:30 to 9 p.m. The books can be purchased from on-site representatives of The Village Book Store of Pleasantville, NY, by cash, check or credit card.
The authors will be introduced by DeLauné Michel.Spoken Interludes was founded in 1996 by Michel. It conducts a number of meet-the-author gatherings annually where writers read passages, answers questions and autograph their latest books.
Michel is a resident of Irvington and the author of "Aftermath of Dreaming" and "The Safety of Secrets," published by HarperCollins. A third novel is in progress.
