Three New York State breweries will participate in a beer-paired garden dinner at Harper's, a contemporary restaurant in Dobbs Ferry, on Thursday, June 20. The breweries are Peekskill Brewery, Bronx Brewery, and Greenport Harbor (of Long Island).
The food will be prepared by the restaurant's executive chef Chris Vergara. Vergara is also chef and co-owner at Meritage in Scarsdale and a co-owner of the new French restaurant St. Georges which will replace French bistro Buffet de la Gare in Hastings-on-Hudson.
"Representatives from each of the breweries will be on hand to pour two of their beers," Harper's proprietor Justin Montgomery said, "and we will pair the beer to our food."
"The format will be very casual," Montgomery added, "with food stations and passed hors d'oeuvres."

Greenport Harbor beer
1. Canard Noir. Similar to a porter but with hoppy, fruity and spicy characteristics
2. Citrus IPA
Peekskill Brewery beer
1. Hop Common. Amber ale
2. Eastern Standard IPA
Bronx Brewery beer
1. Pale Ale. Their flagship beer
2. Summer Ale. Being released for the first time during the week of this event
Food
To include house-smoked meat, roasted fish and house charcuterie.
The beer will flow freely, the hours are 7 to 10 p.m. and the cost per person for tickets is $65 in advance or $75 at the door. Tickets were still available when this article was posted.
There is street parking and a municipal parking lot is nearby.
