Free Family-Meal Planning Class Will be Held on Wednesday at Mrs. Green's in Tarrytown

Planning family meals will be covered in a free class conducted by Amanda Devens, nutritionist at Mrs. Green's in Tarrytown, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. The topics to be covered will include preparing quick meals, proper portion sizes, and what to do with left-over pasta. Participants can also pose questions on related subjects.

Attendance is limited to ten participants however a second class is tentatively planned for the same afternoon if the 1 p.m. session is fully booked. Reservation are needed and requests can be emailed to adevens@nmfg.com.

Children in strollers are welcome.

Information will also be available about field trips to food sources and store tours.

Attendees will receive a ten-percent discount on store purchases made the same day.

Devens is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta and has a Bachelor degree in Dietetics.

The class will be held in the community room on the lower level at Mrs. Green's, 45 N. Broadway in Tarrytown. There is a backdoor entrance to the lower level from the parking lot directly in back of the store. If you enter Mrs. Green's through the front door on Broadway, walk to the rear of the store and go down one flight.

The store, open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., is located between the CVS pharmacy and Pay Half in the space previously occupied by Tarrytown Gourmet.
