The Royal Regency Hotel broke ground on a major multi-million dollar renovation project that will rebrand and transform the Hotel into Westchester’s first trendy boutique hotel, inspired by the building's past and Yonkers bright future. The Hotel will remain open during the renovations, which are expected to complete by summer 2014.

The exciting new renovation will give the Hotel an entirely new look and feel. For the new interiors, Virserius Studio (www.virseriusstudio.com) is updating the Hotel’s 88 standard guest rooms, five luxury suites, lobby and reception areas, and its ballrooms, meetings and event spaces to feel fresh and modern. The New York and Paris-based hospitality design firm has successfully repositioned properties for Hyatt, Hilton, and Starwood. They have worked on notable projects such as the MGM CityCenter in Las Vegas, and are currently working on hospitality projects throughout the U.S., Europe, Africa and Malaysia.

The renovations will be complemented by a re-imagined brand and enhanced guest experience that promises to make the Royal Regency Hotel the area’s first boutique hotel. The Royal Regency Hotel’s new rebranding includes a new logo, website, and marketing materials – which all feature the rich deep purple colored pantone palette that will coincide with the new look and feel of the Hotel.

“This is a very exciting time for everyone at the Royal Regency Hotel. My family has owned the Hotel since 1994, and as we looked to the ongoing accommodation needs of our guests, we knew it was time for a complete redo. We are dedicated to providing our guests with excellent customer service in a welcoming, comfortable, and fun setting,” said Maria Pampafikos, Co-Owner and Vice President of The Royal Regency Hotel.”

“Having a robust hospitality sector in Westchester is essential to the economic vitality of the county as it promotes tourism and strengthens our community,” said Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino.

“The Royal Regency Hotel’s upcoming transformation into the areas first boutique hotel will create a new option for visitors and business travelers.”

In conjunction with the renovation, the Royal Regency Hotel is donating a large quantity of furniture to Furniture Sharehouse, Westchester's Furniture Bank (www.furnituresharehouse.org), which provides free furniture by agency referral to economically disadvantaged individuals and families living in Westchester County. Furniture Sharehouse provides people with the basic household furnishings that enable them to rebuild their lives and live with dignity. A variety of tables, desks, chairs, lamps, mirrors and more will all be donated by the Royal Regency Hotel to Furniture Sharehouse over the next few months.
