SUMMER RETAIL SCENE SIZZLES AT THE WESTCHESTER

The Westchester, Simon’s premier shopping destination with the finest collection of stores north of Fifth Avenue, is bustling with activity this summer as new retailers open their doors and existing merchants emerge from full-scale renovations.

                “We are excited about all of the great things happening this summer at The Westchester, including the introduction of several new retail concepts,” said Paula Kelliher, area director of mall marketing for The Westchester. “The new arrivals and other significant enhancements are sure to impress shoppers and delight even those with the most discriminating tastes.”

                Shoppers looking for a gift or fun place to pass the time will enjoy a trip to the new LEGO store. One of the world’s best-known toy manufacturers, its new 2,616-square-foot location features kid-chic design, innovative displays and consumer-friendly play areas that are sure to provide countless hours of engaging entertainment and fun experiences for families and kids of all ages. The new store can be found on Retail Level 3 in the Neiman Marcus wing.

                Those in the market for clothing that is casual yet chic should check out Splendid, a specialty retailer established in 2002 with the goal of creating the ultimate t-shirt. Since then, the brand has grown into a complete lifestyle collection of ultra-comfortable, effortlessly stylish looks for the entire family sold in numerous retail locations and high-end department and specialty stores nationwide. Its new 1,368-square-foot shop is located on Retail Level 3, next to L’Occitane.

                Looking ahead to fall, The Westchester will welcome a new 2,987-square-foot Reebok store, which will feature the popular brand’s state-of-the-art sports footwear, apparel and accessories for athletically-minded men, women and children. It will be located on Retail Level 3, near Neiman Marcus.

                Also coming this fall is lululemon, which touts itself as a seller of technical athletic clothing for those who enjoy yoga, running, dancing, working out “and most other sweaty pursuits.” Founded in Vancouver, B.C., in 1998, the first lululemon shared its retail space with a yoga studio and today has stores all over the world. Its new location will encompass 3,411 square feet on Retail Level 1 in the Nordstrom wing.

                In addition to the new arrivals, iconic British brand Burberry is one The Westchester’s existing retailers that will be sporting new looks. It has reopened after undergoing a major two-month renovation in a 4,750-square-foot store on Retail Level 1, where shoppers will find its distinctive and recognizable trench coats and outerwear, apparel for men, women and children and collection of accessories including shoes, handbags and timepieces.

                Famed designer Lilly Pulitzer also will unveil a new concept store offering a stunning, colorful collection of modern resort wear and accessories for women, men and children inspired by the sophisticated Palm Beach lifestyle. The 2,539-square-feet store will be located in a new space on Retail Level 1, near Center Court in the Nordstrom wing.
