Several local businesses teamed up to support the fourth annual Friends of the Scarsdale Library Spelling Bee—bringing needed funds to support the village’s public library.
A.G. Williams Painting Company, with locations in Pelham and Greenwich, and the Rachele Rose Day Spa located in Hartsdale, were two of the many sponsors of the Spelling Bee this year.
“We are so grateful for the support of A. G. Williams Painting Company and Rachele Rose Day Spa,” Longman said. “These local companies helped make our annual fundraising event a huge success.”

Twenty teams competed for the coveted Spelling Bee title of “Scarsdale’s Best Speller,” including five teams of local teens. The winner of this year’s Spelling Bee was the Library Trust Bees (Seth Ross, Terri Simon, and Florie Wachtenheim.)

The recently held event raised $18,890. All proceeds of the spelling bee—which also included an evening of trivia games, a silent auction, raffles and music—will benefit the Friends of the Scarsdale Public Library. Formed in 1968, with the primary goal of supporting the library as it serves our community, the Friends strive to focus public attention on the library's services, facilities and needs.
