Bon Secours New York Health System Appoints Andrea Weaver as Service Excellence Coordinator for Schervier Nursing Care Center

RIVERDALE, N.Y. (October 23, 2013) -- Bon Secours New York Health System (BSNY) announces the appointment of Andrea Weaver, RN, to the newly-created position of Service Excellence Coordinator at Schervier Nursing Care Center, located in the Riverdale section of The Bronx. In her new role, Weaver will serve as a bridge between residents and staff to help identify needs and improve service delivery. She will also act as a patient liaison and advocate, striving to anticipate needs, facilitate solutions and follow through on requests to ensure a comfortable stay for those entrusted in Schervier’s care.

“One of our major ongoing initiatives at Schervier is to continue improving the quality of care provided to our residents and their families, and I am confident that Andrea will help us achieve our goal of service excellence,” said Carlos G. Beato, CEO of BSNY. “Andrea brings a wealth of experience in hospitals, nursing homes and home health care, making her well-qualified to advocate to the continuum of care that our patients experience. As healthcare continues to evolve and change, customer service is critical to our future successes and is a primary objective to our mission.”

Weaver joins the BSNY team with more than 15 years of experience in the health care landscape. Prior to her new position, Weaver served as Intake Coordinator for Schervier Long-Term Home Health Care, where she was responsible for evaluating and assessing patients for short- and long-term admissions into the home care program, and formulated discharge plans with social workers to ensure a smooth transition into the community for the patients.  Previously, she served as a public health nurse for Visiting Nurse Service of New York, located in the Bronx, and as a registered nurse in New York Presbyterian Hospital’s adult emergency room, located in Manhattan.

“As a registered nurse for many years, I have practiced my profession by providing holistic healing, and my experiences continue to help me in understanding all aspects of a patient’s life,” said Weaver. “With knowledge of the service delivery, I have a firm commitment to excellence and consistent integrity, and I look forward to continuing my career with Bon Secours New York and bringing these dynamics to my new ministry.”

Weaver graduated from Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing in Teaneck, N.J., and has her degree from Saint Peter’s University. She is also a registered nurse, and has completed a number of certification programs. She currently resides in the Bronx, N.Y.
