Village Vacuum in Bronxville Says Goodbye April 30

After 60 years serving the village of Bronxville, Owner Bob Philp will close his doors at the end of April and is looking forward to the next chapter in his life as a village handyman.

With a humble, hand written sign in the window of that reads "store closing April 30," longtime owner Bob Philp spent this past weekend reflecting on his decades in the village as patrons passed by his Kraft Ave. store, stunned and disappointed of his departure.

Saying that the constant increase in rent was the main reason for the store's closing, Philp's countenance ironically could not have been brighter as he nostalgically reflected on his time in the village and also on his new prospects as he hopes to serve Bronxville as a go-to-guy for home improvement projects and vacuum repair.

Opening up their doors originally next door to the up the block in November of 1952, the shop specialized not only in vacuum repair, but other home improvement supplies and quickly became a staple in the village as the years past on.
