Tuckahoe's Paws and Play Raises $750 For Pets

Owner Matt Sellecchia of Paws and Play Pet Resort in Tuckahoe raised $750 for the Yonkers Animal Shelter from the resort's Bow Wow Luau event over the summer.

When Matt Sellecchia decided to hold a summer kick off party to raise money for the Yonkers Animal Shelter as well as much needed pet supplies, he could not have been happier with the response from the community as dozens of pet owners took advantage of the fun day in the sun set up by Paws and Play Pet Resort.

Having raised money from the event by charging $10 per dog who attended, Sellecchia proudly presented Leslie McCauley, Volunteer Rescue and Adoption Coordinator of the Yonkers Animal Shelter, a check in the amount of $750, which will go directly to to help aid the shelter's resources for the dogs and cats that call the shelter home.

"Our goal was to raise money, supply food and other supplies that could help the shelter meet their needs," said Sellecchia.

The Bow Wow Luau event and month-long pet food drive for the homeless pets cared for by Yonkers Animal Shelter included a pooch pool party and barbeque for the dogs in attendance.
