New Ardsley Business Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month [VIDEO]

Spincredible indoor cycling in Ardsley will donate proceeds toward breast cancer research and awareness during the month of October.

Dobbs Ferry couple Alan and Patti Straub’s new indoor cycling boutique—Spincredible, 692 Saw Mill River Rd. at Addyman Square in Ardsley—will offer unlimited rides for $100 during October with 25 percent of those funds going toward the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Walk to end breast cancer.

Spincredible guarantees patrons a bike seat by allowing them to reserve one seven days in advance, making waiting online to get on a bike at the gym a thing of the past in the Rivertowns.

“We feel that our studio will inject some life into downtown Ardsley with some energetic people cycling early in the morning and early evening,” said Alan Straub, a graduate of the class of Dobbs Ferry High School 1986 who works in advertising for Madison Square Garden. “Hopefully they will frequent the other local establishments for coffee, paper, bagels, etc.”

Patti Straub—who graduated with the Our Lady of Victory Class of 1984 and works as a personal trainer at Hero, 62 Main St. in Dobbs Ferry—said she got the idea for the indoor cycling center after seeing how crowded the bikes were at the gym.

“A lot of the women would indoor cycle and leave, and wouldn’t really use the facility,” said Straub, who along with her husband grew up in Dobbs Ferry and has four children in the Dobbs Ferry School District. “The men would cycle and then go lift or something, so me and my husband started talking and I said ‘This would be a great niche.’”

Spincredible offers five classes a day, that are taught by local athletic professionals, including some who are from the Rivertowns like Jason Cairo who is co-owner of Endless Trail Bikeworx at 56 Main St. in Dobbs Ferry. The prices of classes vary depending on what package you buy.
