New Daycare in Tuckahoe

Karina Wyllie says her new daycare center is part of the solution to long wait lists and high child care costs here in the Bronxville, Tuckahoe and Eastchester area. The Tuckahoe mom has just opened the new Koala Park Daycare at 7 Armourvilla Avenue in the Village of Tuckahoe.

Wyllie says it can take up to eight months to secure a daycare space at some facilities in the area. In addition to the waiting game, she says the fact that it can cost $1,600 a month for child care is more than many families can handle. Wyllie says she was shocked by the hurdles that people in Westchester had to jump through to get quality daycare when her first child was born.

“I talked to other mothers in the maternity ward and one of their major concerns about having a baby was how they were going to find good & affordable daycare when they had to go back to work, said Wyllie.”

After that, Wyllie said it became her mission to serve the community and help fill the daycare gap in Tuckahoe, Bronxville and Eastchester.

“Parents should be able to go off to work with confidence that their children are being well looked after," said Wyllie. "Children should be happy and fulfilled in their care setting. By starting Koala Park, I can help meet these needs and run a successful business as well.”
