Can't Bear the Tough Commute? Work Here in Westchester County This Week

Several local business centers and co-working space offer up discounted or free use of their space to Metro-North commuters following this weekend's derailment.

While many thousands of commuters who normally ride the Hudson line are mapping out alternate routes and slowly making their way to the city this morning, some may be opting for telecommuting.

If you need a place to work, two local businesses have offered up their spaces – free or at a deep discount for would-be commuters affected by this weekend’s train derailment.

Jenifer Ross of Tarrytown’s W@tercooler co-working space at 21 N. Broadway says “be our guest. Anyone affected by the limited Metro North travel to and from the city this week is welcome to join us as W@tercooler for a courtesy flat rate of $20 (normally $35).”

If interested, please email her at info@watercoolerhub.com to reserve a desk. “Price includes Wi-Fi, light printing, coffee, and community,” Ross says.

For more options in Tarrytown, Hawthorne or White Plains, the Regus group of business centers has kindly offered up free use of several of its business lounges in the region.

“We hate having to write this email to you today given the tragic nature of yesterday’s Metro North accident but we wanted to let Patch readers who use the Hudson line know that if they would prefer to work in a Regus center this week (versus the alternatives Metro North is offering or work from home), Regus will open their centers in TarrytownHawthorne and two in White Plains [click here and here],” Lisa Kovitz writes. “The lounge is free all week to anyone with a Metro North pass.”
