Bronxville Woman's New Swimsuit Calendar

Bronxville's Cynthia Florek isn't just a pretty face. The 25-year-old is also a dancer, instructor, choreographer, director and producer.

Bronxville resident Cynthia Florek has a new swimsuit calendar out. The 25-year-old got into modeling after already having experience in dance instructor, actress, choreographer and producer.

Florek told Patch how she got the idea for the calendar.

"The idea for my calendar came from my PR people. Because I mainly work as a swimsuit model for swimwear designers, the idea was to highlight that aspect of my career," said Florek.

Florek grew up in Michigan, but moved to Los Angeles to pursue a dancing career. But her time in the Golden State eventually came to an end as her career as a model blossomed.

"I came to New York as the owner of a dance production company called Bravo Productions," said Florek. "Since my modeling career has taken off, I'm no longer producing. I live in Bronxville because of it's close proximity to the city, without the cost of actually living in the city. And I love Bronxville."

When it comes to her work in dance, Florek has trained in Paris, Los Angeles, Chicago and here in New York. She honed her skills with The Young Americans, one of the first show choirs in the country. The performing group mixes choral singing with choreography.

Even though dance will always be a part of her life, modeling has also become her passion. Florek told Patch how she got into the modeling world.

My interest in modeling stemmed from the work in commercials I was doing. I was asked to model in print ads for various products and I found that I really enjoyed the work. I signed with a talent agency called Heyman Talent.

Where does she hang out these days? I want her to personally sign a copy of the calendar for me.
