Some people, smart people, will judge how good an eatery is simply based on how long the line is and how many names the guy behind the counter can rattle off in the course of five minutes and at J & G Market in the Chester Heights section of Bronxville, all this and more can be found.

"Amazing Italian deli. Tons of fresh made items and plenty of sandwich choices. Plenty of gourmet items in stock that you wouldn't find in a local grocery store."

J & G does a good deal of catering around Westchester, with an assortment of tray options ranging from chicken and beef to pork dishes, veal and even an extensive dessert menu.

If you go for lunch, don't be deterred by the long line as it does move quickly with the small army of workers behind the counter taking orders and churning out mouthwatering sandwiches and dishes just as quickly.

Freshness is the name of the game at the deli as they make their own Mozzarella, cut their own meats and at one time was even voted best Mozzarella in Westchester.

The store carries a variety of prepared and packaged food and beverage items with an Italian accent, including bread, Italian sausage, and prosciutto brought up from Arthur Avenue in the Bronx.
