A Sunny Bronxville Sidewalk Sale Kicks Off

The fall sidewalk sale felt more like summer on Friday as hundreds descended upon the village to catch great deals and warm temperatures.

The Bronxville Chamber of Commerce may want to change the word "Fall" Sidewalk Sale to "Summer" as sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 70s have made for a gorgeous start to the two-day event in the Village.

Shoppers were out as early as 10 a.m. to stroll up and down Pondfield Rd., Kraft Ave., and other village streets to take part in the event that showcases many of Bronxville's most popular businesses by allowing them to set up their items outside of the store.

Elizabeth Zaldano brought her two kids Aiden and Rebecca to walk the village streets and she says that events like this make her happy she moved to Bronxville.

"My husband and I moved here from Brooklyn in 2010 and we were worried we would miss out on street fairs and such but have been pleasantly surprised at all the village has to offer throughout the year," said Zaldano.

By noon on Friday, as students began trickling out of Bronxville HS and as more and more shoppers made their way into the downtown business district, the sidewalks began filling up quickly as shoppers enjoyed the sunshine just as much as the bargains.

The sidewalk sale goes on today through 6 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.  For a list of some of the deals being offered by specific stores in the village, click here.
