Bronxville Elementary Teams Up With LIU
Bronxville Elementary School is entering into a new partnership with Long Island University-Hudson. LIU will bring in five graduate students who will be interns at the school. School district officials say the interns will work with grade level teams, in addition to working as substitute teachers. The partnership was made possible by a $79,000 grant from the Bronxville School Foundation.
"This will be a huge win-win for us, and I know of no other school in the area that is incorporating both of these best practices — lesson study and university partnerships," said Interim Principal Heidi Menzel.
Each of the interns will be attached to a specific grade level. There will also be an on-site LIU professor who will work with the interns. The professor will also hold seminars for the faculty.
