Local Artist Jack Moran at Bronxville Women's Club

All this month you can see the works of Bronxville's Jack Moran at the Bronxville Women's Club, with an opening reception being held on Sunday Sept. 9 from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.


At the age of 86, one might assume that Jack Moran would be quietly enjoying his retirement by relaxing on a beach somewhere but instead, the lifelong art lover has found a new way to spend retirement by painting various portraits that will be on display during the month of September at the .

After starting with drawings in pencil and charcoal, and realizing through the comments of his friends and family that he did have talent, Moran enrolled in the Bronxville Adult Education art program according to his biography and from that moment forward, what was a “late in life hobby,” became a true passion.

Art lovers are invited to the opening reception for artist John (Jack) Moran works on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bronxville Women’s Club located at 135 Midland Ave. in Bronxville.

There is no charge for the reception and the exhibit will be available for viewing from Sept. 4 - Sept. 27, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It was refreshing to hang such a lovely show as Jack's. Gave me a break from writing cozy futuristic mysteries like my Chocolate Chocolate Moons. Jack is very talented and very nice.
