Bronxville's Jessica Jenney has just won the Grand Prize for December's Better Photo photography contest. The site's founder, Jim Miotke, announced Jenney's win this weekend.
Jenny's award-winning photo was taken in Bronxville, off Paxton Avenue, at the entrance to the Bronx River Parkway.
More than 9,100 entries were submitted to the photography contest. The competition attracts contestants from around the world.
Jenney's image is titled, "Peace on Earth." It got top honors after it was submitted in the "Digital Darkroom" category.
The contest happens once every month. The categories include Nature and Landscapes, Animals, People, Elements of Design, Digital Darkroom, Travel and Place and Flowers. The winners are picked by a panel of professional photographers.
