About Town: Bronxville Under Klieg Lights Again

Womrath book shop will close for filming on Wednesday.

While local, independent bookshops may not be able to compete with Amazon and Barnes and Noble on price, they do have one thing that the megastores don’t – the type of charm that Hollywood loves to use as a backdrop in films.  Indeed, back in May, a film called “Admission” starring Tina Fey spent a day filming at Eugene Sgarlata’s Pondfield Road literary mecca.

Now comes word from the shop that they’ll be closed this Wednesday, Aug. 8, for an undisclosed  film shoot.  Whether it’s a big budget blockbuster or an American Express commercial, we don’t know – we weren’t able to get in touch with Sgarlata before press time.
