Severe Weather In Store For Bronxville Area

The National Weather Service is forecasting storms, hail and even a possible risk for a tornado for the Westchester area.

 

In what has been a rather hazy, hot and humid summer, those elements will combine later on today and may trigger not only thunderstorms, but severe weather too.

The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement and Hazardous Weather Outlook today for Westchester County.

According to the NWS, Bronxville-Eastchester could see severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

"Damaging winds and heavy rainfall are the main threats," the NWS stated. "Large hail is possible as well. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out."

In our area, expect storms mostly after 5:00 p.m. today. The high temperature today will reach 91 degrees, according to the NWS.

On Friday, thunderstorms are likely after 1:00 a.m., bringing hail, damaging winds and heavy rain. The wet weather is expected to return after 10:00 a.m., with a high temp of 93, according to the NWS.
