Paul Luisi Foundation Raises Money for Cancer Research

The 5th annual Gala event for The Paul Luisi Foundation was held earlier this month at Wykagyl Country Club and honored Brenda and John Fareri while raising thousands for cancer research.

On Oct. 19, The Paul Luisi Foundation hosted their 5th Annual Gala at Wykagyl Country Club

The Foundation honored Brenda & John Fareri, the founding benefactors of the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the pediatric cancer research department at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital under the direction of Dr. Mitchell Cairo.  

The Paul Luisi Foundation is named in honor of Paul Luisi who is a pediatric cancer survivor.

Paul was a Tuckahoe Middle School student in 2004 when he was diagnosed with AML Leukemia and received a stem cell transplant using his brother Nicholas' cells.

Today he is a healthy 19 year old attending the University of Delaware. Since its inception in 2007 the Foundation has donated over $230,000 to pediatric cancer research.
