Hard to believe it's almost time to go back to school, and that means it's time to hit the stores – virtual or local – for school supplies. I opted not to participate in the PTA fundraiser that allows parents to submit a check for the cost of supplies, which are then delivered directly to their child's classroom on the first day of school. Although that approach may be convenient, I wouldn't want to deprive my daughter (or myself) the excitement of picking out school supplies that I experienced as a kid.
So now I need to decide where to go for this. Value Drugs in Bronxville? Value Drugs in Eastchester? CVS? Target? Online? I'm a proponent of supporting local businesses and not chains, but like everyone else I don't want to overspend.
What are the best places to get school supplies? Would/do you support the PTA fundraiser I passed up? Is shopping for school supplies a fun event or an arduous chore for your family?
