Going to a Yankees Game? Metro North's Weekend Workaround

You can still get to Yankee Stadium from Westchester and Putnam by train despite ongoing derailment cleanup.

The Yanks play the Rays at home in a three-game series July 26-28 that starts tonight—and lots of fans will be using the Harlem Line instead of the Hudson Line to get to Yankee Stadium.

While the Hudson Line will be open tonight with regular train service, it will be closed Saturday and Sunday between Yonkers and Grand Central while Metro North finishes clearing away the massive freight-train derailment at Spuyten Duyvil.

Instead, Metro North strongly recommends everyone coming to the game use the Harlem Line instead.

Hudson Line tickets will be honored on the Harlem Line, officials said. See the full Metro North weekend schedule here.

Plus, there will be free parking at many Harlem Line stations July 27 and 28 for Hudson Line customers opting to use the Harlem Line:

  • Free parking is available at all stations from Wassaic to Mount Kisco, as well as at Pleasantville, Hawthorne, Valhalla, North White Plains, Scarsdale, Tuckahoe and Woodlawn.
  • At Chappaqua, free parking is available after 1 PM.
  • Limited area free parking is available at Hartsdale (site E only)
