Frugal Family: Deals on Museum Visits, Fashion and More

It’s winter break and a great time to take advantage of some of the deals we found this week, which include everything from a liquidation sale at Borders to a grand opening sale at Fierson’s. Remember to check with the merchant for additional conditions.

1. Museum Pass Program

Deal: Looking to take the kids on a day trip this week? Head to the Bronxville library for passes for free admission to several area museums (The American Museum of Natural History, for example). Passes are available for three days and you can find more details here.

2. Borders, 680 White Plains Road, Scarsdale

Deal: The Scarsdale/Eastchester location is closing (read more ) and you’ll find in-store discounts ranging from 20 to 40 percent.

Deal: We mentioned this in our About Town , but here’s a quick reminder: In honor of their new location, take 20 to 50 percent off merch at the children’s boutique.
