Founder-Descendant Sweetens Eastchester's 350th Anniversary Gala

Eastchester's 350th Anniversary Gala is scheduled for May 30 at the Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville.

Guests at the town's 350th Anniversary Gala at Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville on May 30th are in for a sweet treat thanks to award-winning chef Courtney Lundin

A direct descendant of Henry Fowler - one of the settlers of the Town of Eastchester - and the granddaughter of Virginia Kathryn Hefti and former Commissioner of Planning and Community Development Robert T. Hefti, Lundin is donating more than 100 of her award-winning 1492 Chocolates to the festivities in honor of her family's historic contributions to the town

graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, Lundin opened 1492 Chocolates in 2013 and by December had already won Truffle of the Year. Adding to the accolades for her hand-crafted sweets, Lundin's chocolate truffles were honored again this year, winning the coveted 2014 Best of the Springs

A legacy freshly explored in Out of the Wilderness, the forthcoming book on the town’s 350 year history, Lundin's family's rich history is also the topic of an October 24th lecture on Henry Fowler hosted by the Anne Hutchinson-Bronxville Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and presented by the Town Historian Richard Forliano
