Community Fund Launches Their Fall Campaign

The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe has launched its Annual Fall Appeal for 2013.

The following was submitted by the Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe.

CF President Betsy Goodell stated that “I urge everyone to support this year’s campaign.  The local agencies and programs that the Community Fund finances are vital to our community and this year they need our support more than ever."

The Community Fund supports agencies and community programs which provide services  in the Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe (BET) area, including:

  • Drug and substance abuse education sessions in BET schools
  • Counseling and support for those who cannot afford to pay the full cost of such services
  • Medical and bus escorts, housecleaning services, shopping assistance and recreational programs for seniors in the BET area
  • Funding for the purchase of a new EVAC ambulance every three years
  • After school programs for children with disabilities

The Community Fund is condensing this year’s drive into the fourth quarter of 2012 in order to accelerate the fundraising which will better enable the Fund to meet the needs of the agencies and programs serving the BET area.

“The Fall Campaign is our largest fundraising effort each year,” noted Melinda Burge, Executive Director.  “Its success determines what we are able to allocate in grants in the spring.”

“The Community Fund is about neighbors helping neighbors,” said David Kuhns, Campaign Co-Chair for Bronxville.

"We can't predict when troubles will hit us. But it's comforting to know that by supporting the CF we can help the people who will help us when we need it most."

The other Co-Chairs for the 2013 Campaign are Katharine Outcalt for Bronxville and Joe Dooley and Neal Denning for Eastchester.
