The National Weather Service is calling for “moderate to heavy snow banding and/or snow squalls” starting Saturday afternoon. Estimates put totals for the quick-moving frontal system at up to four inches of snow.
All of Westchester County is included in a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the NWS.
“Hazardous travel conditions are likely as any heavier snow combined with moderately strong winds will significantly reduce visibilities,” the weather service says.
The forecast comes on the heels of heavy snowfall Tuesday into Wednesday, cancelling school in most Westchester and Fairfield County districts. Slow commutes and hazardous road conditions were exacerbated by weather-related delays along Metro-North Railroad lines, drawing wide criticism from riders.
