Bronxville Talk: From Romania to the American Dream

Concordia’s Books & Coffee Series will feature Peter Georgescu, Chairman Emeritus of Young & Rubicam and author of The Source of Success and The Constant Choice: An Everyday Journey from Evil Toward Good on Thursday, September 19 at 7pm in the Sommer Center for Worship and the Performing Arts.  Georgescu will discuss his most recent book, The Constant Choice.

Peter A. Georgescu arrived in America in 1954 after years of forced labor as a child in communist Romania. Today, he is Chairman Emeritus of Young & Rubicam Inc., Vice Chairman of New York Presbyterian Hospital, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a graduate of Princeton and Stanford Universities.

The Constant Choice is a reflective look at Georgescu’s remarkable life.  From his early days in a war camp in Romania to the top of one of the world’s greatest advertising agencies, Georgescu writes about his unlikely path in business, his struggles with the forces of both good and evil, and his own illuminating journey in the world of faith.

In his review, Bronxville resident and Director Emeritus at Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships, Warren Ilchman, remarked,“ Peter Georgescu's The Constant Choice… is my favorite present to those who, like Georgescu, are searching for meaning in their lives, to locate good in what seems to be a very mean, evil world.”

Books & Coffee is a Concordia community enrichment program made possible through the generous support from Friends of Concordia.  Admission is free and no reservations are required.
