An exorbitant sense of relief is being felt across Eastchester and Tuckahoe as well as surrounding areas, all thanks to a brand new lease agreement that has been reach between the Town of Eastchester and Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, which overseas troops in seven counties in the Hudson Valley, including the Eastchester/Tuckahoe Scout troop.
With the ability to maintain daily use of the cabin, schedule all meetings and events and also allow for other civic organizations to use the cabin throughout the year, the agreement ends what was a tense few months where Scout leaders were left in the dark about the fate of their beloved cabin.
"We would like to especially thank Mayor Mary Marvin of Bronxville, Mayor Steve Ecklond of Tuckahoe, County Legislator Sheila Marcotte and State Assemblywoman Amy Paulin," stated in a letter sent to the Tuckahoe Eastchester Girl Scout community.
"These four people were willing to listen to our concerns and offer their help to make this new lease happen."
