Seminar: Computing in a Mobile World

Practical Applications of Mobile Technology to Help Businesses Grow

Robert Cioffi, CEO of Progressive Computing (PCI), a computer consulting and network installation, design and maintenance firm serving clients from offices in Westchester County and Manhattan, is presenting a series of educational technology seminars for business owners, hosted at The Microsoft Store at 125 Westchester Ave in White Plains, NY. Each seminar will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 PM and include a question & answer period. Light refreshments will be served. The next in this series of free interactive seminars, focusing on Computing in a Mobile World, will take place on November 20, 2013.  Attendees will learn how mobile technology can help their business grow, make them more efficient, and reduce costs, in addition to tips on keeping information secure when working from multiple devices and locations.

At the most recent seminar, Cioffi spoke to 25 business owners and professionals about computing in the Cloud. After defining exactly what it means, he discussed pros and cons, when and if companies should move their data, and how to choose a vendor, among other things. Attendees asked several questions focusing on security and how to get your data out of the Cloud.

“Robert’s comments on Cloud Computing were insightful and timely,” said Sal Vaccaro, Director of Marketing for the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts. “He explained things in a non-computer speak manner which brought the Cloud down to earth. I have already implemented some new procedures based on the common sense, small-business-minded information he presented. I plan on attending as many of these seminars as possible.”

Upcoming seminar dates and topics:
Computing In A Mobile World: Wednesday, November 20th
Working from home, on the road and on multiple devices – learn how to stay connected, be more efficient, and keep your data secure while you grow your business with help from mobile technology.

Cioffi, a Microsoft Small Business Specialist, is a seasoned speaker and writer on a variety of technology topics for small and mid-sized business, and an official advisor to Microsoft. In addition, he recently gained the Apple Mobility Competency. He will be joined by additional subject matter experts.

"The goal of our seminar series is to answer the most common and pressing IT-related questions that we hear, and discuss some real-world applications of solutions," said PCI Managing Partner Robert Cioffi. "Our upcoming topic about mobile computing is applicable to just about everyone, as more and more people are using multiple devices to get their work done and stay connected."
