Kindergarten Registration at the Bronxville Schools

An open house for parents of incoming kindergartners who are due to start school in September is being held in the auditorium of Bronxville High School Jan. 29 at 9 a.m. School district parents will learn about the kindergarten program at Bronxville Elementary School and the registration process. A question and answer period will follow.

Following the open house, parents are being asked to contact Mary Reilly at the district's elementary school to schedule an appointment to register students for the upcoming school year. The open registration period will take place between Feb. 3 and Friday, Feb. 28, except for the week of winter recess, Feb. 17 through 21.

Parents are being asked to bring the following items to finalize the registration process:

- a completed registration form. Forms can be found on the elementary school page of the district website (http://www.edline.net/pages/bxv) under "kindergarten registration."
- two forms of proof of residence (either a tax bill, a contract of sale or a lease)
- child's birth certificate
- nursery school release form
- a current immunization record, updated by a New York State certified physician.

After completing registration, children will be scheduled for a DIAL (Developmental Indicators for the Assessment of Learning) assessment and a kindergarten afternoon visit. These programs take place in the spring.

Before children start school in September, all forms must be filled out and submitted to the elementary school office. To reach Mrs. Reilly, call 914-395-0500, ext. 1304.
