Parker Gallery is pleased to present Flight: Memory & Illusion, a solo exhibition of work by the master painter, Ernest Garthwaite. The artist’s works are distinguished by his large parabolic shaped paintings that powerfully interpret the landscape. Over the past four decades, Garthwaite has perfected a luxuriantly textured and multi-layered surface that echoes nature’s variations of light and movement. The artist’s paintings are reflective of his environmentalist view. The works express the sacredness of the land and our interconnectedness to the natural elements. In keeping with Garthwaite’s conservationist views, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Greenwich Land Trust. Garthwaite's work is represented in over 75 collections, including the Medicine Hat Museum and Art Gallery, New Rochelle Public Library, Art Gallery of Windsor, Bank of Montreal, Concordia University, Marymount College, Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies and York College of the City University of New York. A professor for over four decades, Ernest Garthwaite is Professor Emeritus at York College, the City University of New York. C. Parker Gallery is your complete art resource. Begin your journey at C.
