Hospice Volunteers Needed – Interviews Being Scheduled Now

To become a Jansen volunteer, getting involved is quick and easy.  And, you will make a BIG difference in someone’s life, many times over.

There are many ways you can help.

Patient Care Volunteers offer support and companionship - by being a friendly face and visitor. They also help with shopping or transportation, assist with correspondence, and/or provide respite for the primary caregiver.

11th Hour Volunteers stay with actively dying patients during their last hours, and provide emotional support to both patients and family members.

Pet Therapy Volunteers - who have a dog or other pet (cat, bunny, horse, etc.) -undergo special training so that their pet can accompany them on visits to patients and their family.

Anyone interested must first schedule an interview appointment.  Interview appointments are being taken now for September.

Once accepted, you will participate in a special training to become a hospice volunteer.  Training begins October 4 and meets on consecutive Tuesday afternoons for two hours each week for seven weeks.

Jansen Hospice provides hospice services to communities throughout Westchester County.
