“Here At Home Song Foundation”

About the “Here At Home Song Foundation” Two longtime friends, Rich Fazio of Mount Vernon, NY and Brian Tostanoski of Yonkers, NY have played music together for 25 years. One day they were talking about the lives of today’s soldiers and wondered how the men and women serving overseas were able to leave their families for an unspecified amount of time and now even years at a time. More importantly, they were perplexed how these families made ends meet without the prior financial support the deployed soldier once provided. Learning that a serviceman’s salary is simply not the same and much less than that of a civilian’s, the two thought of their own families and the hardships they’d be forced to overcome. It was a sobering conversation.

Doing what musicians do best, a week later Brian went into the studio with an outline of a song, which within hours would become “Here At Home,” the song on which the foundation is based. Before they knew it, other talented friends came on board including Bob Agnello, Larry Sac, Gordon Gebert, Ross “the boss” Friedman, Paul Special, Danny Caccavo, Howie Weinberg, Michael Nigro, Attila Juhasz and Celia Clarke.

After reading reports of reservists’ families being unable to pay their mortgages and bills, the musicians felt compelled to help. “Here At Home Song Foundation” became much more than just a song. The cause progressed into a means to raise money to help military families. And so a 501-c3 non-profit corporation was formed in 2008, the mission of which is to help the families of U.S. military reservists and national guardsman / women who experience tremendous financial hardship due to the difference between their civilian and military salaries.

100% of the proceeds collected from the sale of the “Here At Home Song Foundation” song disc and download are provided to the struggling families of reservists in the form of monetary gifts to help them make ends meet. The founders of the foundation constantly try to find new ways to help these selfless individuals who leave their families, and at times give their lives to defend our freedom.

About the Event “Back in the Day” is the NY—NJ—CT Tri-State Area’s premier live music triumph playing the best rock from the 70’s. Formed by Tobie and Peter Tripodi in 2008, the band was perfectly completed soon after with the addition of Larry Sac, Rich Fazio, Brian Tostanoski, Sue King, Joey Granda, Lisa Cibelli and Liz DeAlmedia. These old friends in this new musical endeavor, who are some of New York’s most talented musician's, decided to make the Here at Home Song foundation their number one fundraising cause doing what they do best. Also performing with them for this event is “Strange Brew” and other amazing bands.

On Saturday, September 15, 2012 at The Eastchester Inn in Eastchester, NY, Back in The Day has enlisted musical friends from across the country to join them in playing a few hours of live classic rock for this cause. This promises to be one of the most memorable live local rock & roll events in recent times. Combining  funds collected from  food, drink and 50/50 raffle, the group’s goal to support the foundation in a big way is ever-present—we hope with your help this proves to be an overall great achievement and evening well spent.

How You Can Help This non-profit is more than a foundation, it is a “thank you” to the men and women who serve and the families that bravely enable them. The first steps have already been taken and the next steps are yours. Come and support what is anticipated to be a memorable Rockin for the Cause Event.
