Arista Camera & Imaging (Arista) in Bronxville is offering a new collection of one-of-a-kind photo frames made from recycled materials. Arista, who recently celebrated their 50th year in business, is the only store in Westchester County to offer the unique photo frames made by eco-friendly company Shiraleah.
Shiraleah photo frames are made by the process of inspired repurposing, which skips the middleman in the recycling process. Using this method, there is no need to collect, ship, or reprocess the materials for reuse, which saves time and resources. In repurposing, scrap materials such as tires, bicycle chains, computer motherboards, keyboards, telephone components, keys, recycled paper from magazines, and recycled tin from overruns and misprints are simply put to an unusual yet decorative use, resulting in a frame that is as much a piece of art as the photo placed inside of it.
The subject of recycling is especially important as we celebrate Earth Month throughout April. Earth Month is dedicated to “going green,” protecting biodiversity and addressing various environmental issues around the world. By purchasing products made from recycled materials, including Shiraleah photo frames, energy and resources are conserved, money is saved, and excess waste and pollution are prevented.
