Use Of Cell Phone While Driving Results In Drug Bust In Bronxville
A Yonkers resident was arrested this week for unlawful possession of Marijuana after a traffic stop by Bronxville PD for for using a Cell Phone while driving.
On Sunday, Feb. 19, Bronxville Police observed Michael Thompson, a 22 year-old Yonkers resident driving through the village while talking on his cell phone.
After initiating a traffic stop on Pondfield Rd., Police Officer William Carroll smelled a strong odor of marijuana emanating from Thompson's vehicle.
A subsequent investigation of the car turned out quite the discovery, as the officer found four glycine bags of marijuana in the glove box; as well as a pipe and glass jar containing marijuana located under the front passenger seat of the vehicle.
Thompson was taken into custody and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana as well as a citation for using a cell phone while driving.
With his car impounded, Thompson was released on $50 bail and is due back in Bronxville Court on Apr. 4 to answer the charges.
