Tuckahoe Library Celebrates Black History Month

The first of many programs commemorating Black History Month begins on Sunday Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. with an educational documentary film featuring Bill Cosby.

All throughout the country, communities are celebrating Black History Month with historic events, community gatherings and many other commemorations.

In Tuckahoe, the library is continuing with it's year long centennial celebration with a Black History Month program of their own.

On Sunday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m., come down to the library for an educational CBS documentary film presentation featuring comedian Bill Cosby.  Following the film, a discussion will be led by Lovely H. Billips, film participant, teacher, educator and community activist.

The film deals with the history behind Black History Month and the important role is plays in current events and society.

Registration is required and can be done by visiting the library or calling 914-961-2121 for a reservation.
