Bronxville's New Wine Bar

The new wine bar is located at 7 Pondfield road, across from the train station.

Bronxville is now home to a new wine bar, Ernie's Wine Bar+EATS. The establishment is run by Bronxville's Philip Hedger and his wife, Geraldine. The couple, who have lived in the Village for 17 years, decided to close the door on their corporate careers and open up a shop here in Bronxville.

The couple has a unique story. Philip has a law and finance background, while his wife has an extensive background in event and project management. In fact, Geraldine has managed events for heads of state, celebrities and British royalty. That said, the Hedgers love to entertain. They say that love is the mission of Ernie's Wine Bar+EATS.

The couple's new establishment focuses on an eclectic wine list and food that the couple says "combines simplicity with tastiness." Philip has been studying wine for more than 25 years. Currently, he is studying with the Institute of Masters of Wine. His goal is to become a Master of Wine himself. Philip says there are only 300 Masters of Wine worldwide.

The establishment will also be home to L'Ernies Wine School. The wine school will be held three Saturdays each month from 1-3 p.m. There will be two types of classes: a tasting session, which will showcase wines from various regions and more "serious" sessions, which will focus on how wine is made. And of course, tasting will be a part of these sessions.

The new wine bar is open from Monday to Saturday, beginning at 5 p.m. It is located at 7 Pondfield Road, across from the train station.
