Search Committee Chair Mary Mackintosh said that overall, they were looking for a creative problem-solver who appreciated the potential of our historic building and collections; who could get the message out to the community; and who could clearly address the competing budgetary demands for materials, hours, and facilities.

Gabriella impressed the comittee on all counts and Search Committee member Chris Zufelt added that, “we are confident that, with her energy and warmth, Gabriella will quickly build relationships with staff, members of the community, and village leaders that will take the Bronxville Public Library to new levels of excellence.”

Radujko will have the opportunity to work with Interim Director Linda Smith-Shearer for a period of time, which will ensure a smooth transition. Smith-Shearer has tackled a number of complex facilities projects and detailed administrative matters during her three-month tenure, and will be leaving the Library in excellent shape.

Gabriella Radujko expressed enthusiasm for learning more about Bronxville Public Library members and working closely with library staff, Trustees, and Friends “to meet the community’s expectations and have a positive influence by facilitating the creation of knowledge," she said.

"I look forward to having conversations that will explore the ways tradition and technology can be balanced to the greatest benefit of the community.”

Board President Rosanne Welshimer stated that “the Board of Trustees is delighted to welcome Ms. Radujko as Director and her credentials, dedication, and clear enthusiasm for her profession make her an exciting choice to lead our library forward. With her professional expertise and strong communication skills, Gabriella is well equipped to work with our Board to successfully meet the challenges facing libraries today.”
