Bites Nearby: Teresa's Bakery & Cafe

Teresa's Bakery and Cafe in Scarsdale has moved her shop to the Eastchester area

Teresa’s Bakery and Café has relocated. After spending 20 years on White Plains Road in Scarsdale, Teresa and company have packed up their ingredients and moved to Eastchester off Mill Rd.

Teresa’s Bakery and Café, A.K.A “The Sweetest Place on Earth”, by one customer, is an authentic Italian bakery where regulars sip espresso, pastries do not disappoint, and the cannoli is legendary.

Handmade by her husband Giulio, “Our cannoli is the best in Westchester” declares owner Teresa Darmetta.

A Yelp reviewer agrees, “Cannoli? Nobody, NOBODY does it better. If you walk in, he fills them on request. Can't get any fresher than that!”

In addition to fresh cannoli, addictive Italian cheesecake, and a staggering selection of gourmet pastries, Teresa’s also serves up daily lunch specials, soups, paninis, candy, ice cream, coffee, and no fewer than 40 flavors of Italian Ices.

While many people believe that the cannoli are the bakery’s sweet magnet, Teresa, like a mindful mother refusing to favor one child over the other, demurely shares that her brownies are also, “…the best in Westchester.”

Nevertheless, of all the delectables available for purchase, it’s hard to choose what to love the most but repeat customers keep coming back for the cannoli.

“I order the giant cannoli (filled with 60 mini cannoli) every year for a holiday party. It’s a beautiful center piece," shared the Yelp reviewer. Westchester Magazine clearly rates Teresa’s as a dessert destination location and after a worldwide taste tour of local bakeries, it listed Teresa’s among the top 12 of great local, international bakeries.

Teresa’s Bakery officially re-opened their doors on Dec. 21 and is now located at 23 Mill Road in Eastchester. For hours and days of operation call 914 472-3825.
